Runner's Guide

Health and Safety Advice

  • Participants shall be physically fit for the activity. If there are any questions, please consult medical professionals in advance.

  • Participants shall understand the Event details and acknowledge the activity is physically demanding, and may cause injury or even death.

  • During the activity, participants shall be attentive to their own physical conditions. If you feel unwell, please stop immediately.

  • Participants must comply with the traffic regulations and pay attention to the vehicles when crossing the roads.

  • If participants have any of the following illnesses or conditions, or which at high risk of sudden death, please consult a doctor for professional judgment and consider your own safety carefully. The Organiser is not responsible for any direct or indirect compensation or criminal liability.

    • Unexplained dizziness, chest discomfort (dullness, chest pain), difficulty in breathing

    • Sudden loss of consciousness

    • High blood pressure (>140/90mmHg)

    • Heart disease

    • Abnormal kidney function

    • Diabetes

    • Family history of heart disease (close relative had a heart attack or sudden death before age 60)

    • Epilepsy

RUN. TO GREEN

BOC Life Hong Kong Harbour Marathon 2024 runs into the city and connects the community – it‘s no surprise that, for the love of our city, we fully support GO GREEN!

 

RECYCLING

Recycling bins will be provided and Green Ambassadors will be stationed at the finish venue. Please do your part by sorting and disposing your recyclable rubbish into the correct recycling bins. With your contribution, we can Waste Less, Save More!

BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE / CUP

Don't forget to bring your own water bottle or cup because disposable cups will not be provided at the finish venue. Water cups will only be provided at the Start Point and all refreshment points along the race courses.  Of course, runners are most welcome to use your own bottle/cup during the race!

E-RUNNER GUIDE

Electronic runner guide will replace the printed version to reduce paper consumption. Runners can easily check the race information at the e-runner guide from their mobile or electronic devices.

EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Entries

    • Each participant shall ensure he/she is physically fit to participate in the Event. The Organiser reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected by the Organiser to be physically unfit to participate in the Event and such person shall accept such decision of the Organiser. 

    • All information provided by the participant in the registration form must be true and accurate.

    • All entries must be submitted before the registration deadline. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • The Organiser reserves the right to close the registration any time, whether before or after the registration deadline, without prior notification.

    • The Organiser will charge HKD100 administration fee for the change of participant's personal data after the submission of an application.

    • Participants aged below 18 must obtain consent by a parent/guardian.

    • Participants shall indemnify and/or reimburse the Organiser in respect of any additional expenses or costs incurred by the Organiser arising from or in connection with any fault, action or behaviour of such participants during the Event.

    • Public liability insurance is covered by the Organiser. This does not include personal accident insurance. Participants should purchase their own personal accident insurance and other insurance as needed.

    • Upon submitting his/her application, an applicant declares that he/she agrees to and accepts the Event Terms & Conditions, the Official Rules and all other rules and regulations which may be adopted by the Organiser thereafter.

    • Participants understand and agree that participation in the Event is voluntary and at their own risk. Each participant agrees to absolve the Organiser and any sponsor and/or supporting organizations from all liabilities arising from bodily injuries, accidents, death or other losses during or caused by travelling to and from the Event venue during the Event or whatsoever reason.

    • The terms and conditions include versions in the English and Chinese languages. If there is any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese version shall prevail. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations. Should there be disputes, the Organiser reserves the right of final decision.

  2. During the Race

    • Participants shall be physically fit to participate in the Event. The Organiser reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected by the Organizer to be physically unfit to participate in the Event and such person shall accept such decision of the Organiser.

    • Participants should place the race bib visibly.

    • Participants shall keep their own race bib securely.  The Organiser would not re-issue a new race bib under any circumstances.

    • Participants must not harass or impede other participants from activities or competitions. Offenders will be disqualified and requested to leave the Event venue.

    • If first aid assistance is needed, please inform the Organiser or first aider nearby.

    • Cheating and doping are not allowed. Offenders will be disqualified.

    • Certificate of Achievement and medal will be issued to all qualified participants who completed the Event within the Time Limit. Participants who do not start the race according to the designated start time and assigned race category, and participants who do not complete the race, shall not be entitled to any certificates and medals.

  3. Event Cancellation & Refund Policy

    • The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right to cancel or cut short the Event for the following reasons. Registration fee and charitable donation (if applicable) will not be refunded. Adverse weather conditions (typhoon signal No. 8 or above, red/ black rainstorm signals) Landslides, rock falls or hill fires along the course. Protests or blockage along the course. Force majeure, i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser/Event Producer and which renders it impossible, unsafe or impractical to hold the Event. A force majeure event shall include, but is not limited to, act of God, war, hostilities, invasion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, riot, commotion, strikes, go-slows, lock outs or disorder, outbreak of disease, acts or threats of terrorism.

    • No refund is allowed after the registration is completed. Registration fee paid for duplicated entries will not be refunded and places cannot be transferred to another applicant or activities. If a participant allows another party to attend on his or her behalf, both the participant and the runner who run on behalf of the participant will be disqualified and might not allowed to participate in future events.

    • The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right to disqualify any person and/or nullify his or her result due to any violation the Official Rules of the Event. No refund will be accommodated in the case of disqualifications (applicable to events).

The Organiser/Event Producer reserves the right of final decision of the Event. Any changes or contingent measures for the Event announced by the Organiser/Event Producer and posted on the Event's website shall prevail.
